Panerai to release a new in-house Calibre P.4000 automatic movement



Panerai is going to release a new in-house Calibre P.4000 automatic movement (see all current in-house movements):


The P.4000 – as the newest member of the Panerai family of calibres has been named – was developed entirely in-house at the Neuchâtel manufacture, no doubt with a more long-term objective than just the PAM 572 models in which it is currently housed. Perfectly designed to power the 572, which displays hours, minutes and small seconds, the thinner movement will allow Panerai to fit various modules on top of the base while still remaining slim enough to reside in a traditional Radiomir case. With this potential for adaptability, the P.4000 is likely to become a platform for a whole new set of models and complications in the years to come.
