"The last few years have seen a sharp move away from pre-crash brashness and bling, and a slower move forward from the ultra-sparse to something a little less Calvinist."
"You can spot trends in small details too – there’s much less on the dial than four or five years ago, not all of which can be put down to post-crash cost-cutting."
"If the last decade was frequently about devising ever more outlandish complications, there is growing evidence of a move to slim down and properly miniaturise these complicated movements – a clever watch is diminished if it can only sensibly be worn by heavily built gangsters."
